Shreekali is a Nepalese instrumental folk band formed in 2013 by youth from Khokana, dedicated to preserving and promoting traditional Nepali and Newa musical instruments like Dhime, Dhaa, Khin, Tungna, bamboo flutes, Sarangi, and Madal. Aiming to revive these fading instruments with fresh energy, the band has performed over 40–50 times at festivals and special events, including leading a 60-member orchestra during the Khokana Festival for Visit Nepal Year 2020. They earned the “Crowd’s Favorite” title at the 14th ICMC in 2018, performed at the UROCON Conference at Soaltee Crowne Plaza, and appeared on Nepal’s top talk show “It’s My Show” in 2022. Shreekali is also involved in social work, collaborating with cpnepal.org for a 15-day music camp for children with cerebral palsy, giving music classes at the Disabled Service Association, and hosting online performances and socially distanced music camps during the COVID lockdown. The band continues to inspire through performances at colleges and community events across Nepal.
